Between January and March 2023, India witnessed the removal of more than 1.9 million videos due to violations of YouTube's community guidelines. This figure represents the highest number of video removals among all countries, as reported by the popular video streaming platform. On a global scale, during the same timeframe, YouTube removed a total of over 6.48 million videos for contravening their community guidelines. The Community Guidelines Enforcement report offers worldwide data concerning the flags that YouTube receives and the methods it employs to uphold its policies.
From January to March 2023, in India, a total of more than 1.9 million videos were eliminated due to breaches of YouTube's Community Guidelines. In contrast, in the United States, approximately 654,968 videos were removed, while in Russia, the count was 491,933 videos, and in Brazil, it stood at 449,759 videos.
"Since our inception as a company, our Community Guidelines have served as a shield for the YouTube community against detrimental content. Our policy enforcement relies on a blend of machine learning technology and human reviewers," stated YouTube.
